New Work: Bodie

If you are looking for some interesting history and are into well-preserved ghost towns, there no better place to visit than Bodie, CA. Gold and silver resulted in short-lived boom town status for Bodie in 1877 and the 1890's. Bodie faded into a ghost town in the 1940's.  In 1962 the small portion of the town that was left was designated as a State of California Historic Park and a National Historic Landmark. Looking through the windows, you can see some amazing views of interiors as they were left when the last settlers moved on.
