In the southwest corner of Union Square, there are usually 1-6 tables set up at all times for blitz chess. The Chessmen are regulars, the challengers, less so. The wait to play a Chessman/tableholder grows longer in the early fall soon after NYU opens for the fall semester. Usually, these games, with fresh young "meat," don't take long. I've watched a lot of chess here, I can tell you which Chessman not to play if you want to keep your money. Here's handful of the players-enjoy.
